making new stuff is important
but it is also important to know
which new stuff will never be made
like
hundred people bands,
nurses making million dollars a year,
products designed by kids,
ai that exposes all global corruption.
ai is not a specific thing.
it is a vague idea
that can be anything
you or your boss wants it to be.
just please
do not believe the hype
that it is only a specific good thing
like a polio vaccine or a toothbrush.
ai will finally
force artists
to fuck around
with technique
and focus
on concepts only.
once eric schmidt’s
killer drones
blow up millions of people
without damaging
real estate and infrastructure
someone will need to clean up
all the blood and guts
and this is a great opportunity
for the next stealth
silicon valley ai genius
artificial intelligence
will never be able
to write this poem
thanks to ai
writing 300 pages about something
that should be said in 3 sentences
will become obsolete.
number of empty words
and an ocean of useless data
will stop to be relevant
making meaning important again.
ai will finally end
the age of blah blah bullshit.
some people believe
that empathy reduces growth.
hopefully, these people
are not designing ai.
this poem reflects
all my despair and hope
and is not a showoff project
by a corporate programmer
the real goal of ai
is not to make
machines like us
but to make
us like machines
my poetry
is defined by
artificial intelligence
in a sense
that i will
never use it
to write poetry.
a human can make an ai which makes art.
a human can make an ai which makes an ai which makes art.
a human can make an ai which makes an ai which makes an ai which makes art.
but a human can not make an ai which makes an ai which makes an ai which makes an ai which makes art.
it stops at three levels.
am i wrong?
the moment when
artificial intelligence
makes art
that we like
is the moment
our freedom ended
artificial intelligence
will be better at
making art that we like
but art is not
supposed to be
liked
art made by
artificial intelligence
will silence us
making us into
passive consumers
and we will
ask for more
the only way
to save ourselves
from this hell
is for each of us
to make art
now
