purpose of art,
including poetry,
is to expand and innovate
our visual, spoken, conceptual
language.
do not let academics, teachers,
business people, and others
take the language from you.
use the language any way you want.
you make the rules, not them.
language is made
by all people for all people.
it can never be controlled by few.
poetry is
a constant rebellion
against the restriction
of language.
it is an everlasting
fuck you
to anyone saying:
this is how it must be.
all ideologies and religions
want us to do these three things:
fix the world,
help everyone,
be better now.
the only difference
is the language and imagery.
math is
a very smart language
used to describe
very stupid things.
humans
always liked
making very smart things
for very stupid purposes.
language is a technology
developed by everybody
talking and writing to each other,
including my poems
so many great minds
fell in the trap
of fucking around with language
it is impossible
to write a perfect poem
because poems use language
and language is always
fucked up and wrong
and it is up to the reader
to figure them out
to understand
how limited we are
by language
just try to learn
a new language
you can hate and love
you can be smart and stupid
you can be evil and good
you can have fun and be bored
and everything in between
all of it together
at the same nanosecond
all the time.
do not simplify existence
just because language is limited.
every word
is spoked by one person
to at least three people:
one other person, themselves, the world.
every word
can have thousands of meaning
but always has at least four meanings:
what the speaker intended to say,
what the speaker revealed accidentally,
what the listener intended to hear,
what the listener revealed accidentally.
writing short poems
like this one
every day
increases your wisdom
because it captures
cloudy ideas
into language
globalization was created
to help the world develop
using the universal language
of money.
but without
a good idea behind it
it just ended up funding
a lot of really bad ideas.
metaphor and irony
lived together
in perfect harmony
metaphor
allows us to overcome
the limitations of language
by connecting directly
to primordial ideas
irony
allows us to overcome
the limitations of language
by enabling unavoidable
duality of our minds
everyone wants
to discover the secret laws of nature
and describe them in a magical language
svaki novi jezik
teaches you
i saggezza del popolo
die es sprechen
country is not
a nation
a language
a culture
country is
a set of rules
applied within borders
defined by politicians
people speak
least with language
to understand people
ignore the language
poetry is the ultimate use of language
and i have been writing poetry for decades
and i still struggle with language
because it is so limited and primitive.
using language seems like an incredible compromise
where i lose 99 % of who i am.
i can not imagine how other people feel
who do not have the time to practice as much as i do.
it must be like living in the darkest deepest hole
of loneliness where no one can understand you
and you are forced to somehow
go through your life without anyone
knowing who you are.
it is as if you are a hamster.
lonely people,
like geniuses
and
serial killers,
have little faith
in language
and
leave clues
which are jokes
and
irrelevant discoveries.
